Hi NYC homies - I live in Toronto, but I'm looking to get some body mods done (flex smart card implant) and I can't find a single body mod artist in this city!! Do you know any cool body mod artists your side of the border, or anyone you know with more involved body mods that could recommend me an artist?

ignoring hundreds of thousands of self reports, which the literature does heavily reference, and where tens of not hundreds of other studies have shown a strong link between holistic integration of psylocybin into daily life and self reported positive effects..

The framing of efficacy as a function of cost really turned me off, because that's so disconnected from the holistic usage of psychoactive plants! if people have used these tools for millennia, it feels silly to come in and say that we proved it does nothing because we tried once in a lab with a bunch of people

would love to read that research! got a link or a doi? if it's the study I think you're referencing, half a gram of mushrooms is a pretty large microdose. Also, a lab setting is a terrible place to test this. https://blog.petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2022/04/07/is-microdosing-just-placebo/

it seems unlikely to me that taking a little bit of a substance known to be powerfully psychoactive does *nothing* to you

yep. me too, used to easily spend 5 hours a day on Reddit, soon as the API protest started, uninstalled the 3rd party app I used, and stopped visiting Reddit on desktop. Now I just read hacker news, warpcast, and twitter, tho twitter is probably gonna suffer a similar fate soon.

sandwich thread everyone post the kind of sandwich you most want to eat right this second I'm thinking cucumber, ham, mayo, and like a provolone or mozzarella or havarti. Yum.

https://jspaint.app is definitely a desktop first experience, but it works wonderfully on phones too!

read a nice lil book outside in the sun with a tasty beverage in hand and maybe some meat and cheese and crackers if you're feeling fancy🌞

dragging my finger over the grid feels like it should be painting a line! I think there's probably a way to condense your UI so it all fits in a single view with no scrolling, then there'll be no conflicts with scroll & draw. things like undo/redo as icons, in one line.

insane that u can sell "kits" of a PCB, a lipo battery, and a couple extra parts, and not build a circuit that has any sort of undervolt protection- if you just keep using it till the battery's completely flat, and then plug in the integrated charger on the PCB, it could explode. that should probably be illegal.

I think being able to pay gas fees in an arbitrary token is a really powerful abstraction! Having a user only hold a stable coin but still be able to make transactions is super powerful, and IMO breaks one of the biggest onboarding barriers: being forced to hold a volatile token for gas fees
