I don't judge you by how nice your bike is, I judge you by how much air is in your tires

"Relax, it's tubeless!" I'm typically on the low end and constantly getting unsolicited comments.

hahaha okay you got me there. I might have been that commenter a few times. At this point I'd probably know better depending on what bike i'm looking at. Do you fill it yourself? What a messy process. Worked as a mechanic for a while and I never ended up being the guy to handle tubeless. Tubular is even crazier, they were basically gluing the tube to the rim and could practically run flat

Hah, yeah it's rough out in these streets! Funny you mention tubulars, since a few seasons of cyclocross is what really convinced me on the conversion. It's a clear advantage over tubes without a spare wheel or second bike in the pit. Seems like the top CX pros still favor tubulars, but they're a little too rich for my blood. In all honesty, tubeless setups rarely 'just work,' but once you've got a good seal on the bead, you're golden. I wont say how long it's been since I flatted.. but I am due for clearing out some sealant that's well past it's prime on at least one set of wheels. Definitely a net negative for quality of life of bike mechanics at large. NO arguing, that shit is disgusting! I'll share some tips, based on my many, many trials, in the main feed a little later. Taking the character count cutoff, as a sign here πŸ˜…
