I really appreciate ambition. 

I think it's important for some people to be ambitious since it is often a prerequisite to doing something great.

But there is this weird perversion with ambition that portrays it as some kind of moral good. It's not -- if anything, it's totally orthogonal.

I agree with you, but I'd say this perversion is natural to us because we are attracted to people who project success in the future. It's orthogonal when you look at it logically in the 21st century, but to me it makes sense why society views ambition as a moral feature.
