That's so interesting, I had no idea - but I'm also an only child. We will be celebrating this soon though :)

PS is it only between brothers and sisters? Same sex siblings have to sit this one out? 😂

hahaha yes it originates from the story of a brother sister bond, but im sure modern hindus adopt it as they see fit. we also tie rakhis to cousin brothers so if it's a same sex siblings situation, having a cousin brother to celebrate rakhi with works too! 

most of my life ive been tying a rakhi to 6-9 brothers lol
