Not being cynical, I just thought of Postman's quote about the telegraph (from Amusing Ourselves to Death) and I have this nagging feeling this time idle amusement might be the least of our worries

Can't that really be said about all innovations?

I know artificial intelligence has a way bigger impact on our lives than many previous inventions. But I’m positive that we can make it work. Maybe I’m naive?
