If you don’t pay close attention, all your preferences could end up being not what you actually enjoy but what is high status or what will not anger your tribe

In a weird way with the advent of social media this is happening at scale that is unprecedented 

The other weird thing is all of our preferences are starting to converge; go to Italy in the summer if you are in the US, go to Venice, get a house, get the same instagram ad furniture, wear lulu lemon

Unconsciously were being herded, dangerous if you are not present

I don't know why anybody would ever go to Italy in the summer, it's too hot

And absolutely full of tourists 💀 the best time to go is October imo. Weather is still good and you can actually enjoy the place instead of fighting through crowds taking selfies ..
