My take on FC’s unspoken etiquette after 20+ months here:

- Debate ideas, not people. Never engage in ad hominem attacks. Don’t let your ego take things personally. Everyone must leave feeling smarter, not angrier.

- Make a genuine effort to steelman opposing views before replying. Find your own blind spot, even if buried deep. Assume good and sincere intentions in others.

- Take this as an experimental lab to get to the truth together, rather than to prove anyone wrong. Treat it as a PvE game, not Squid Games.

PvE is Player(s) vs Environment. Typically found in collaborative / cooperative games and game-theoretical situations.

The prisoner’s dilemma is a good example — if you approach from an angle of distrust, you’re far more likely to lose / minimize your EV than if you approach it from the angle of implicit collaboration and trust
