It can be argued that the permanent bureaucracy was already a form of Competitive Authoritarianism that somewhat ridiculed the notion of Representative Democracy in the USA, and continues to do so in many western liberal democracies. A cull was likely needed to restore functionality, efficiency and meritocracy. Understandably the big question is what comes after?

They can just print massive amounts of fiat right now, and in the future, to buy up ASICS and do that or just confiscate them. This becomes harder as price goes up as miners are better able to fund legal and informational challenges and have political reach. Price is more likely to do this if more nation states adopt and this also provides better location arbitration for miners. I do get what you are saying regarding price but I think that gets negated once we pass a threshold of nation state adoption as other states, cooperations and the general public will just say thanks for the cheap coins. It's right to be cautious but things like nation state adoption, corporate treasuries and bitcoin banks are unavoidable, and likely necessary, for adoption imo. "The liquidity must flow!"

How does owning lots of bitcoin allow a nation state to control the network? I don't see it as an issue personally. For global adoption nations states and corps were always going to have to be holders.

I see value in them as a form of signal by people with skin in the game which has appeal over other sources which can be biased and co-opted. Useful for hedging too. Our everyday lives are full of prediction markets such as insurance, queues, working and general life navigation. These seem like a natural evolution of the human predilection to predict.

The separation of religion from the state has been one of the biggest developments for humanity and has allowed people in those countries/networks to thrive away from the superstitions, tithes and yokes of the religious classes. People of course can be considerate to others and aware of traditions in different cultures, but one should not be shamed because of another's religious beliefs. A free and open social media service should be agnostic and expectations of religious servitude should be nil. Fwiw the original post on this fasting subject seemed like max bait for engagement imo. Like who even posts such a thing?

That's the right decision and it was ludicrous that the SEC originally chose to pursue this in the first place, even if the NFT was fractionalised. This new paradigm of content ownership now has some breathing space to develop and mature and Zora could do well from it.

One bro was texting whilst driving and the other was a passenger. Whilst distracted they didn't see the elephant crossing the road and sadly crashed into it. They survived the crash but were beaten to death by a group of marauding chimpanzees who so happened to be best friends with the elephant.
