The theme of loneliness has always been deeply present in my psyche. I seem to have an acute awareness of its presence in my own life and in the lives of those I encounter. I’m drawn to understanding what it feels like to face this in later years, when the years behind stretch longer than those ahead. What regrets do people hold? What would they have done differently if they could turn back time? How do they cope with moments of loneliness? And how is it that some find solace in it, embracing loneliness as a final destination—the last relationship they need to nurture: the one with their own SELF. Einsamkeit 2020 ISouth Africa

A wonderful topic to shed more light on. Especially during the 70s, people are increasingly starting to feel lonely, with friends passing away, kids who have moved away living their own lives independently, the lack of being needed or wanted... There is a definite shift happening and it depends on how we handle this period when we reach it, to make this period enjoyable. 700 $hunt

I think one of the truths that doesn’t need proof is loneliness; humans are inherently alone! And it seems to me that the less the relationship with oneself and the less self-awareness a person has, the more they try to escape this truth. They try to fill their surroundings with noise to avoid hearing the voice of this loneliness! But in any case, humans are lonely beings!

I work in mental health and loneliness is the biggest single contributor to people's suffering. What I have found though is that the refusal to be vulnerable, to allowing yourself to truly be seen, is the thing that keeps the depths of friendship and relationships at a superficial level.

Loneliness is a journey we sometimes embark on unwillingly and sometimes consciously. Some resist it, some drown in it, and others embrace it—ultimately finding a sense of peace that perhaps others are still searching for. In your view, how can one find a balance between accepting loneliness and breaking free from it?
