GN Degens, Bans Update We're applying bans as we wrap up Season 12. In Season 13, all bans will be reset, giving everyone a fresh opportunity to earn tips. At the end of each season, we'll reevaluate activity using a rule-based analysis of our choosing to weed out behavior that closely aligns with farming. To prevent gaming the system, we won't announce rules in advance but will use various techniques to monitor how tips are being distributed.

For Season 13, we鈥檙e lowering the daily allowance pool from 5M DEGEN per day to 1M DEGEN. This change aims to reduce token inflation and extend airdrop sustainability for years. Additionally, we鈥檙e removing the tip4tip rule since it hasn鈥檛 been effective at curbing farming.

Here鈥檚 what led to bans this season: 1. McDegen Bot Overuse: Users who sent 60% or more of their tips to the McDegen bot were banned. Mint.club wasn鈥檛 intended to be a quick monetization method, but unfortunately, that鈥檚 how it鈥檚 been used. 2. High Tip Reciprocity: We analyzed how often tips were reciprocated. For example, if you tipped someone 100 DEGEN and they tipped you back 100 DEGEN, reciprocity was 100%. We leaned in favor of users by analyzing the 40th percentile. If 60% or more of the users you tipped reciprocated at least 95% of the amount you tipped them, you were flagged. For example, if you consistently received 95 DEGEN back for every 100 DEGEN you tipped more than 60% of the time, you were banned.

I think you were absolutely right to clean things up, no doubt about it. I didn鈥檛 even know it was possible to manipulate tipping for personal gain using accounts like MacDegen or others. Here鈥檚 my point of view on tipping: if someone tips me, I continue interacting with them to thank them. As a result, they appear more on my timeline, I see their work, and they get more visibility. If, for example, they鈥檙e an artist or a creator, I鈥檓 naturally more likely to tip them back. I鈥檓 not going to spend hours scrolling through my timeline trying to figure out who deserves a tip or not. That鈥檚 why I tip in return鈥攏ot just because they engage with my content, but because if they appreciate my work, chances are I鈥檒l also connect with their art, their creations, or what they share. We likely have common interests.

I think you should take this into consideration. I鈥檓 not going to spend my life on Warpcast analyzing everyone鈥檚 creations. The only solution I see is to select those I appreciate using Micro Sub. But is that a good solution? Because in the end, it will always be the same people being selected.
