People yearn for how the internet felt 15-20 years ago — a wilder place where you could meet kindred spirits

Farcaster is the closest thing I’ve found to that experience now and I suspect that’s why so many of us are compelled to be here

I’m technically Gen Z, so maybe I haven’t experienced this to the degree that others have, but I truly feel like there are kindred spirits everywhere. 

Tangibly, it means being early to emerging social networks. That’s how you get that cozy feeling. 

I’ve been early to many professional and social networks/apps. The sweet spot is either being in the first 30 users or the first 1000-5000. First 30 users means the default is to be close with others. 1000-5000 you can start hedging the rate of growth and setting seeds down. 

Every social network I’ve been on I’ve made friends that have flown across the world to see me, or I’ve flown to see them. It’s never been a one time occurrence to me and it’s happened multiple times. Be early and there are kindred spirits everywhere ☺️🤗
