Welp, if I ever decide to hire someone to murder my business partners, I'll be sure to do so while run a massive drug trafficking operation on new technology. That way the tech fans will ignore that little murder-for-hire piece, and I can get a nice little pardon when they lobby for me.

I certainly agree with this but this is a sentencing/policy problem, it's not solved at the pardon level. And as far as pardon candidates go, there are many others that are higher on the list imo.
