Friedberg hits the nail on the head here: "When you add this all up, there's over 120 million people in the US that are directly working for or getting paid by the federal government in the US. That is such a significant percentage of our economy. I don't wanna use the term socialism"

Two questions: 1) Why does he include the stat of 50%+ tax going to govt as evidence for people "working for the govt"? When this country was arguably more capitalist, we had top tax brackets of 50+% 2) Where do you think this all goes? Like does US GDP just continue to creep down due to the loss of productivity?

1) Not 100% certain but maybe that means that you are working half of the time for the government? 2) Federal government will decrease over time in percentage of the GDP due to inflation. James has a really good view of what is going to happen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVaj4Bery_I
