EthCC people keep saying "there are no apps"

Gonna need a big die off / consolidation arc before we can start converging on apps

just a thought, but maybe convention pool is not exhaustive of the q/dau that crypto might have in a few years (especially newer generations of devs). pretty clear by now that resources are overspent because the very choice is prestigious to the audience that the convention pool desires.

q/dau's going to come from resource constraint. mostly everyone that's shown up in pre-permissionless farcaster lacked the golden handcuffs. by extension, the same's going to be true for other niches that emerge from here. 

imho there's a kernel of truth in "there are no apps"; that the most enticing/recycled apps are sold by ppl who aren't buying in kind. we do need gamification to compete for attention, but it should be hands-off to get to a self-sustainable scale.

I think your last point is what matters - "the game remains unchanged"

That's who inherits all of crypto at the end of the day
