EthCC people keep saying "there are no apps"

But don't use Farcaster because it's not infra-aligned 🙃

Gonna need a big die off / consolidation arc before we can start converging on apps

1) The infra choices FC made for identity registry default aligns with Eth. It was the right choice, but infra is seen as religion right now. Other attempts like Solana connected addresses didn’t move the needle as much as one would desire

2) Base successfully used FC for dev distribution, so there’s a perception that FC is Base. The Arbitrum frames push was a nice counter, but the meme is embedded

The best thing FC could do right now to woo infra types is move towards neutrality and the first narrative shift is to decouple from Base as the sole platform choice for builders here

The last 10 years were spent investing money and labor across various branches on the infra tree

That has led to a lot of different vested interests. Notice Polychain, Dragonfly, Bcap, etc don't cast much while a16z, Paradigm and USV do

 VCs are the starkest example but same downstream effect on developers and users

Narcissism of small differences die hard, so it will take time and withering of most of the branches before we get alignment
