I think this is Farcaster's secret. The "magic moment" for Farcaster doesn't happen online — it happens IRL This is why so many of the CT talking heads and outsiders don't seem to grok FC. They come here, see a noisy feed, and churn In order for FC to continue eating CT, we'll need more IRL touch points

Why do you think this secret exists? e.g What's special about Farcaster that causes the IRL connection?

FC rn is coalescing crypto natives that are interested in consumer applications (either building them, using them, or investing) This concentration of that group doesn’t exist anywhere else online, so when we meet irl, we’re meeting people that geek out about the same esoteric stuff we do

So high overlap in interest affinity - plus something around dunbar’s number right. Otherwise why wouldn’t we observe similar secret powers with Reddit sub-communities

Reddit tends to be more irl -> url whereas FC seems to be the other way around r/mavericks, or r/boston are about having an online bulletin board for your “local” community Bc consumer crypto natives formed online first, we go offline to deepen connections Same reason all of crypto is on the conf circuit
