Not necessarily - I think @eriks' key insight is that there are quite a few new apps on Base that use embedded wallets. Both wallet count + tx count would go up, without any guarantee of net new real users

Yes, but it’s very low intent to create an account on an app

Each top of funnel user is now a multiple on the “new user” count

Disingenuous to treat this like meaningful growth - it’s just the same people button clicking

we should stop reporting chain metrics and report on app metrics just like a good web2 company would do.

i guess fragmentation has its benefits (if care about inflated metrics rather than inflated user numbers)
