I think it's very hard for an infrequent user to understand what's happening

They likely added the eggs app and automatically opted into notifications initially, but when they come back and see this, they churn hard

I dunno, seems to work exactly like Facebook does or did last time I used it. Think people are pretty savvy about that stuff these days

I think they also get the trending token notifications (which you get opted into automatically)

Returning users won’t see old trending token notifications, those are ephemeral and only show while it’s trending. Also it’s like maybe once every two weeks, so very infrequent.
