I was devastated by the WNC floods last year. Seeing the LA fires, I intellectually feel a similar sadness. But emotionally, I feel more detached since I’m less connected with the land Perhaps we must viscerally feel the anguish of climate volatility before we can solve it. Ie. it may be a crisis of the heart, not the mind

Incredibly sad, billions of dollars in damages so many people just lost everything they own. Their entire lives are turned upside down. My mother's house burned down a few years ago it's devastating

Sorry to hear that man. It's not easy to lose your home and all the memories associated with it. Hope she is doing well now

Everything is better now but man was that a hard time, I can't imagine what this is like for the people going through it right now.
