Awaken just made all Solana transactions free on their tool till March 1st. I can highly recommend so if you're still looking for some tax help it's a great idea to sign up. It's been great for EVM for me as well. https://x.com/defi1crypto2/status/1893607252483002559 Referral https://awaken.tax?ref=tgbn70vh

https://www.newsweek.com/europe-defense-package-700-billion-ukraine-boost-2032541 Huge if true, $700B euros is massive, matches the annual US military spend. I have to imagine a ton there will be huge efforts to divest from American arms. Reminds me of this article from Bret Devereaux: https://acoup.blog/2024/07/05/collections-the-philosophy-of-liberty-on-liberalism/ "When the time came to fight, the liberals fought"

5/ Last piece of information, the infrastructure right now is simply not set up to accept these tariffs. Mail couriers haven’t set up the tech for importers to pay tariffs as a courtesy. Manufacturers are scrambling to tariff engineer their HTS classification such that they *guess* which HTS will not be subject to the tariffs. Mail couriers have to figure out how to send XYZ amount of letters to Americans who have to pay tariffs on their exports. Security at the border has to scrutinize every package with a declared value under $800. That’s a lot of tech, letters, and packages that need to be optimized.

1/ I have a nuanced take on tariffs, as someone who actually imports/exports and has manufacturers in the U.S. and Canada for /humankind. Originally when Trump was elected a lot of my manufacturing friends thought that he would get rid of the “de minimis” (which the media is referring to a loophole or subsidy). The de minimis rule outlined in the USMCA dictates that goods imported under $800 are not subject to tariffs. That means that Americans buying almost anywhere outside of the U.S. for goods under $800 are not subject to paying state taxes, because they’re paying for goods (incl. tax) to other countries. This gave a lot of room for Chinese manufacturers like SHEIN and Temu to dominate the market for fast fashion and home goods. However, me and my friends thought that he would get rid of the de minimis for *just China. It is unusual that he started with Canada and Mexico.

I'm going to just put this out there: I don't think Jupnet is a good idea. In fact I think it's like most cross chain projects for teams: A massive distraction. The best cross chain experience, the one that is seamless, is a CEX. It's always been a CEX. And it probably always will be. Hyperliquid is good. deBridge is a huge step up in bridging (and I hear Across is great as well) But they all pale in comparison to a CEX and people aren't coming on chain to "try out this cool new thing called bridging everyone is raving about!" They're coming on chain for native apps and trading long tail exotic stuff the CEXs can't (or won't) touch. all that and Jupiter is where it is because of their laser focus on Solana; not despite it. https://meow.bio/jupnet
