A left-wing journalist I know on Bluesky was saying that the push around Greenland is clearly related to the VC-backed Network State idea.

Obviously there’s a big crypto connection. What do you guys think of the project? Anyone involved? What does this clearly very skeptical site miss?

The world of crypto guys who want to create sovereign states is a wild thing. What’s the warp/farcast view on those freaks? Are some of them here?

Networks states at the surface level might seem something new, but it is not, is just a rebranding from old "private states". 

In essence such project is fascist in nature, and seeks to give much power to corporations rather than individuals.

In the crypto social space there are many libertarians and anarcho-capitalists, these people in general are supportive of fascism, so they will cheer such morally bankrupt projects like network states.

Fortunately there is also a small contingent of leftwing people that oppose such projects, but the segment is small.

As an example probably no member of /cryptoleft is supportive of network states.
