Back then, some leaderboards only highlighted the OGs. It was pretty tough, because we had to follow them and validate what they said in order to grow.

Yes, this current leaderboard isn’t perfect as you said, but I really like it for newcomers. We get to discover people beyond the OGs, and that’s important

What most people don’t realize is we’re the guinea pigs.

Every cast, every like, every leaderboard climb it’s not just participation. It’s data. It’s training material. And for what? A few dollars? A bit of visibility?

We’re helping shape systems that will one day shape us and most don’t even see it happening.

That’s what worries me. Not the leaderboard itself, but how easily we accept being measured, how willingly we train algorithms that may one day decide what’s worthy, what’s real, what gets seen.

It feels harmless now. But we’re laying the foundations for something much bigger. And we need to ask are we building something that empowers us, or something that quietly rewrites what it means to be human?

Crypto. Geopolitics. Music. Travel. Tech.

Meta already paved the road with Facebook and Instagram - with no benefit or return to the user and yes they are using those platforms to manipulate and control us 🥲

True but back then we didn’t know it. Here we are happy for a few dollars. Doesn’t really seat right with me.

I assume most people still don’t know it! Or they don’t really understand the extents to which their data can be used.
