are you doing russian math for your elementary school kid? Would you say MCT is the liberal arts equivalent of russian math / AoPS?

both kids do AoPS virtual academy for math. yes, I'd say that Michael Clay Thompson is as close as i've found for language arts what Richard Rusczyk (AoPS) is for math

Interesting. How young can you start a child on AoPS? Are there any legit alternatives to MCT? (I have a 2 month old daughter and am obviously a tiger dad)

http://www.sfbaghs.org/ has been a great resource for us and is a good place to ask, but you need to be bay area to join and they're pretty strict. NYC probably has similar groups (if that's where you are)

AoPS just added level 1, which they'd probably say is for advanced 1st graders and 2nd graders, but many start much younger than that AoPS also has a language arts program, but we didn't like it as much
