Feeling heartbroken looking at the pictures and videos of the hurricane aftermath coming out of Asheville and greater WNC

The media isn’t covering the damage there because there’s no way to get in or out, nor any cell reception right now

I’m not sure how to help from afar but if I figure out how, I’ll let y’all know

I was devastated by the WNC floods last year. Seeing the LA fires, I intellectually feel a similar sadness. But emotionally, I feel more detached since I’m less connected with the land

Perhaps we must viscerally feel the anguish of climate volatility before we can solve it. Ie. it may be a crisis of the heart, not the mind

Climate volatility may demand a visceral response, as true understanding often arises from emotional connection rather than intellectual acknowledgment.
