I can’t stand the phrase “double click on” outside its literal meaning. Who started that and why?

I just don’t say it. I also think people don’t use it consistently, sometimes they mean it as “exploring more” and sometimes as “building on”.

TIL: do they use it for anything other than a double click on an item on the screen?

They use it for when they want to say they want to explore something deeper or they agree with something and want to build on the thing.
