If you buy a Mac with > 1Tb SSD, can you tell me what do you do that requires that much space?

btw if you have multiple projects it's easy to take many Gb of storage.
on my MacStudio I have a 2 Tb because if have a lot of virtual machines with various snapshots.

does it really take that much space to install packages?
