two v important apple questions: 1. i should wait until the fall to get the new iphone, right? assume the hardware will be better to support apple intelligence 2. worth it to get the apple watch ultra? i'm active, will likely do a tri soon, starting to go out w/ just watch, no phone more often

If you're truly active, eventually you'll buy a garmin. I have not yet met a serious runner/triathlete that does not use a garmin.

I’m reaching my limits with Apple Watch. Battery life and no physical buttons are two big ones.

what do you use the physical button for? even on my Garmin I used them to start and stop a workout so I don't miss them at all.

I do not use a garmin now (used in the past, pre-Apple watch). Running with the Apple watch, I catch myself tapping on wrong buttons. But really the battery life is my biggest issue (my watch died 40% in the last marathon).
