Crypto exchange M2 announced that it will allow residents in the United Arab Emirates to buy and sell Bitcoin and Ether directly using their bank accounts. In an announcement shared with Cointelegraph, the digital asset custodian said that the new integration allows UAE residents to directly convert their dirhams into Bitcoin and Ether. Through trading pairs listed on M2’s spot markets, users can trade BTC and ETH for dirhams and vice versa. In addition, users can also deposit and withdraw dirhams.

Pantera, one of the largest crypto venture capital firms, reportedly invested over $100m in Telegram-linked Toncoin earlier this year, marking it as its largest investment to date. Bloomberg reported on Thursday that Pantera bought Toncoin at a 40% discount from the market price. Considering the average price at $6.32 in May, when the deal became public, the investment remains profitable. However, Pantera must hold onto its Toncoin investment for one year before it can start selling off portions of it over several years. How is Ton associated with Telegram? The messaging service integrated Toncoin’s TON blockchain into its app, allowing users to access blockchain features. As a result, users can can buy, sell and trade Toncoin directly within Telegram. Moreover, a wallet integration enables users to conduct transactions, tip others and engage in additional blockchain activities all within the app.

A cryptocurrency investor lost over $1 million in just an hour on Thursday after buying a dubious meme coin called $MBAPPE. The coin was falsely promoted through French soccer star Kylian Mbappé’s hacked X account. According to analytics firm Lookonchain, the investor created a new wallet and invested 7,156 $SOL, worth $1.03 million, into the $MBAPPE token in a single transaction. However, the investment’s value has since dropped to just $9.2K.

The beleaguered Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, was granted bail on Wednesday, upon a condition to pay €5 million ($5.56 million). He is also placed under judicial supervision with mandatory obligation to sign with the police twice a week. The Russian-born billionaire tech mogul was detained at a French airport on Saturday, and later charged for 12 potential complicity. Per a statement from Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau, “Pavel Durov was indicted and placed under judicial supervision.” Further, he is also banned from travelling outside France until further notice.
