Lol, gm gm! I once saw a video of a young woman in the Southwest who wanted to help her parents’ struggling Mexican restaurant. She started posting on TikTok, locals took notice, & business picked up. In NYC, things work differently because of density & so many tourists, but it’s still nice to see restaurants thriving when so many struggle. The challenge for locals is finding the right time to visit.
I waited 30 minutes in line at Katz’s two weeks ago. I was with an out of town friend, so I didn’t mind, it was fun playing tour guide. I love Katz’s, but it’s 2025. Restaurants should take reservations instead of making people wait in line.
JG Melon is probably the one exception I make, but I only go every six months or so. Plus, it’s not overrun with tourists, which makes a big difference. No disrespect to tourists, they’re great for the city, just not for my dinner experience 😂😂 0 reply
