So Iโ€™m starting to see the dark side of the quote cast meta. Quote casts are powerful ways to get the attention of the OG caster, but only when used to add to the conversation and try to get more eyes on it. When itโ€™s used to ask a question to the original caster instead of replying to them and asking directly, it feels gross and I donโ€™t like it. What is the point of this? It feels like shallow engagement bait rather than adding to the conversation. I hope this is not the new trend. Most will ignore it.

I dislike it strongly. I didnโ€™t realize it was happening until someone called me out for not answering their question. I looked through my notifications and assumed they had a spam label and didnโ€™t see it. Nope. The quote casted me and asked a question and EXPECTED me to answer it. Hard no. A QC to me should raise awareness and add more people to the conversation.

I have earned a FC reward for five weeks now, yet I still only have 258 followers. My followers do engage, so I have a small audience to bring. Yet, if I Qc and select a new channel, then I can bring those channel followers into the conversation. I say, " @ pichi has a great point about...XX...what do you think? Also, to break chunks up to post threads and expect people to read is mostly unlikely. But, a Qc will at least let me do it.
