Dear Cryptoleft, I have a question for you: From my experience and knowledge (in France & in the US), it seems to me that left wing aligned ppl are more often than not, anti-crypto. Oftentimes because it's seem as a way to scam people, and often associated with finance, which is traditionally despised by the left. However, given the very nature of blockchains, being a decentralized and transparent alternative to our current information storage/communication system, which should 100% align with the leftwing standards, how come we're seeing so much dogmatism and lazyness to actually understand the technology, embrace it, and build leftwing aligned proposition? This really baffles me to be honest. Is there a deeper reason as to why things are this way? Making crypto a partisan issue is really the worst outcome possible...

Anti-tech in general, not just crypto. Wasn’t always that way

The current state of tech making established services worse than before is a very new phenomenon. A lot of the optimism I grew up with is being challenged by the current state of the industry

Ride-sharing and short-term rentals eroded a lot of the worker protections established in the taxi and hotel industries. The problems of social media creating divisive echo chambers is well known too. I'm hoping fc can be the place where we can get beyond the noise & toxicity on twitter & just communicate better

Then we can also totally visit the old enemies like the printer & ink industry, which is now making the act of owning a printer a SaaS subscription. SaaS in general for things like the Adobe Suite has changed to the point that we don't really own anything that we're spending money on any more. We're renting access.
