Balaji's Network State vision is highly dystopian and we should all hope it doesn't come to pass like that.

It has a lot of parallels with the idea of burbclaves in Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash. In that book, it leads to lots of "franchise cities" run by gangs/militias that are sorted by ethnicity or class and end up skirmishing everywhere.

Why do you believe it’s dystopian? Genuinely curious.
