toxic positivity is the pressure to only display positive emotions and suppress or dismiss any negative feelings—even when those negative emotions are valid and appropriate. in other words: it’s the idea that “no matter how bad things are, you should stay happy, grateful, or optimistic.” on the surface, it looks like encouragement, but underneath, it invalidates real human experiences.

Negativity terrifies. Question the myth - life is good and meaningful, people are okay, positivity is power - and you're exiled. That illusion must be protected at all costs. The “negativity police,” backed by the fearful masses, silence dissent. See too clearly, speak too freely, and you become the enemy.

It's a little embarrassing to admit this, but sometimes it just annoys me. There are certainly people who genuinely enjoy their lives and really radiate positivity. But if a person behaves like that, just because it's written in a popular book or something like that, it's hard for me to accept it😅

Toxic positivity is propped up through gaslighting and denial. When it becomes too overwhelming it’s quickly replaced with anxiety, hatred, fear, and destructive behaviors. Keep a zero bubble by acknowledging your feelings and expressing them in a healthy way.
