During my run on Sunday, I came across a bug I had never seen before. It turned out to be a tarantula hawk. 

I ended up seeing two of them, and one was flying after me for a bit before I sprinted away.

Yes, I was explaining the encounter to my team today, and they pulled up the image on Google to help identify the bug.

The first one landed right in my path, so I stopped and tried to get a picture. I ran past once it flew off the path, but it flew back at me, so I sprinted. The second one was off the path on a downhill, so I was already running fast.
