the payment use case is extremely overhyped in crypto most consumers prefer centralized payment options and the benefits of centralization (fraud protection, security, etc) will probably always outweigh anything decentralized options bring to the table we have to find use cases where decentralization is actually an advantage

Payments in crypto are extremely underhyped Most consumers globally have literally no access to the majority of centralized payment options and crypto provides access in a pretty huge way - it's literally a lifesaver

yes for people with no other options giving them the ability to hold and transfer funds electronically is massive but that doesn't change that when given options humans want the stability and reliability of centralized payment processors (and that's ok)

Agreed there, and for now that probably won't change But I also do think there's so many people without access to those options that it almost doesn't matter lmao (tbh personally I think global finance is so cooked that centralized payments will ~never properly reach those without options)
