i think they're still too young so that regardless of where i pick to sit, the airline is obligated to put them next to me 😭

was actually thinking about this while booking, there were still a few rows empty in the nicer areas and so if i just paid to upgrade myself, would they still be obligated to seat my kids next to me?

I’m not so sure about that anymore give last year. Someone was in our assigned seat (looked like unaccompanied immigrant with social worker). Youngest got seated next to an adult.

But ok, if the kids are below 12 doing that purposefully would be considered weird parenting move. Above 12? Kids you are on your own, mom is flying business class (or at least seat with more leg space) 😅
