started because i got cut from the baseball team in high school kept going out of "pure hate" for being slower than others until i got decent enough (sub 5 mile, sub 10 2 mile, sub 16 5k, sub 33 10k, just short of sub 2:40 full) trying again now out of "pure hate" even though i'm 40 because suddenly everyone's a "runner"
