Rudy’s has a few locations in the metro area and is super yummy. I like their creamed corn. Get the extra moist brisket. Torchy’s is always a good call for tacos.

Strongly recommend checking Loro out for lunch. There’s also a couple bbq food trucks on Barton springs Blvd that are great and fast. For Tex mex, you should be fine at most places as long as you get away from downtown or chuys on Barton springs.
