bought a tv yesterday, hadn't owned one since 2007 i've got mixed feelings, but the wife thought it's better for the kids who'd been watching stuff on an ipad when we let them admittedly the kids were super excited, which reminded me how fun tv can be for kids what do you think, /parenting? good to have? a mistake?

I find TV boring, so i never had one. Got one for kids, quickly returned it in a week. Bought a projector; now Saturday is a family movie night. We, somehow, kept kids away from screens and got them busy with sports, activities.

We've also been doing movie nights together with a projector and it's great! I guess the TV is more to let them watch cartoons while we work on stuff without kid distractions like cooking.
