imo, remote setups work best if/when your foundations (vision, objectives, execution skills, etc.) are strong, which is often not the case for startups fwiw, my own company is remote; and while there are benefits (cost savings, higher quality of life), i do think we'd be more effective business wise in-person

Great points Justin. I like remote work for very well defined problems that don't require much communication like coding features, but for anything creative in person wins hands down for me. Remote also gets lonely very fast.

Iβve heard of companies that have found a good middle ground where they balance running a remote team with mandatory retreats once or twice a year. Personal connections are fostered while allowing for employees to work around their schedules.
