Suddenly have 7 days in Feb to travel with husband, tween boy and 2 teen girls. Where should we go, ideally direct flight from NYC. Prefer adventure or culture over beach.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve actually never been to Seattle myself, definitely on my list. 

We did family vacation to Oregon few years ago. Was epic - river kayaking, rafting, rock climbing, hiking, camping. Loved it

Seattle - best outdoors + decent city 
Portland - good outdoors + underrated food 

^adventure is winter activities like skiing, snowshoeing, etc all within an hours drive

Road trip across Portugal and Spain. Still warm. Decent adventure. They still have beaches though

Head to the Southwest. I’m partial to Tucson, AZ because I grew up there, but anywhere with pretty mountains, desert hiking, and nice restaurants should do. The hiking can be as adventurous as you want it to be!

Great call and thx for the suggestion. We did Charleston-Asheville-Nashville last summer so probably not going back just yet. Loved it.

Nashville - Good time of year to avoid crowds. Lots of direct flights from NYC. Great music, food, sightseeing, and outdoor activities. Asheville, Knoxville and RTP would be good too.
