Up until a few years ago I only ever invested in public markets. 

Made some VC investments over the past 2 years.

And just yesterday I wrote my very first angel check this to a founder I met on farcaster.

It’s been a fun journey to start diversifying with riskier and less liquid investments.

There are many secondary benefits with angel and VC that are real but hard to quantify-expanded network, access to private information, invitations to future investment opportunities.

Public markets easier but not as fun

Interested in social infrastructure (URL & IRL) | slowly building /firstdraft, curating /concretejungle | markfishman.xyz

Short answer: Wrote a big check 

Longer answer: nurtured VC relationships, then wrote a big check 

Honest answer: married to a trader/investor with connections, invested first with his b school friend who was raising a fund, I invested on my own to a fund I was interested in a few years later
