What’s your ideal version of digital property rights?

Owning:
website domains (DNS)
my crypto identity (ENS)
my social identity (FID)

any sort of "points" or currency I accrue from a platform should be mine and the platform can't later take them away

I buy kindle books all the time, but do I actually own the book, or just the right to download it from amazon?

Hip new restaurant opens up in a low rent neighborhood. 

Attracts people to neighborhood who otherwise wouldn’t be there. 

More restaurants open. More people come. Neighborhood improves bc more $$ in the local economy. 

Rents start to increase. 

Restaurants with their notoriously low margins can’t afford rent anymore.

Horrible injustice bc it was the restaurants who created the value and improved the neighborhood.

But imagine if they owned the property.

Similar thing is happening with corporate networks. Normal people like you and me created all the content on Facebook, IG, Twitter etc, which is where the value comes from but none of us own our account or our identity.

Which is why I think digital property rights are worth fighting for 🙃

kindle books are a good example of where digital ownership starts to break down for me. seems weird to say you own a book when really you just have access to information and its free to copy that information. this is where it doesn't translate from the physical world.
