When I was 12 or 13 I brought home a test I got a C on.  My mom was disappointed. I explained to her it wasn’t bad, it was average. Her answer: “but you aren’t average” 💥 

That changed me.

And FC is not typical. We don’t compare stats to other networks. We win by beating our own high standards.

This is actually much better than the average social network.

Still should always try to improve (so agree with your cast), but I don't read this with pessimism at all!

Sounds likely. What keeps me coming here is my conviction that I *should* be supporting decentralized social media because I believe in it. It’s not just “is this better than twitter” but a moral calculation for me.

That's just a guess. I invited two great people to FC so far and had high hopes, but unfortunately neither of them is active here despite my encouragement. So I think I'll leave the inviting to others.

I can almost certainly promise you the answer is in the data and is all about engagement

Look at the churn rates of people who got 0 or very low engagement on their first, second, third cast and I bet it’s super high 

Mostly the latter. Still figuring out what I want to say on here. Also not yet in the habit of checking often

This is literally just power law distribution, it's what most social networks, really most networks, fall into and will be what happens with Farcaster too as it grows.
