The client and protocol used to have the same name -- Farcaster. I think the client should have kept the name Farcaster and the protocol should have been named Warpcast. The Farcaster meme is just too strong (even back then) and is usually first touchpoint for new users (instead they have to learn about Warpcast).

I think if they called it something as unsexy as SMTP or TCP IP or FTP then we wouldn’t have all this confusion. But it wouldn’t be as fun Are there any popular protocols with a sexy memetic name besides farcaster?
