We had it before. It’s pretty challenging to build 2024-level UX while encrypted with a small team. Opted for a simpler system for now.

WhatsApp, iMessage and Signal are the three at-scale e2ee messaging apps. And Signal UX definitely clunkier than the other two (but to their credit, both are using Signal’s algo)

I def use signal more. Clunky or not. Slim and it works most of the time.
Felt that telegram is too much for just messaging. 
Will not touch whatsapp until zuck behind it

So true. Anyway I am not using it for illicit activities. Just to chat with friends on different platforms and by the way taking care of basic privacy.
So not worried about knocking

i stopped using e2ee services when i didn't need them anymore, after seeing the whatsapp thing i gave up on the idea that it's even possible or if most attempts are just a band-aid until the man comes knocking
