Insightful as always, Sam. How much emphasis do you find employers put on years of experience over other qualifications? i.e: Candidate has a transferable skillset they're highlighting for a job. They technically have the years, but it was developed in a different field.

It depends on how different the field is. If you can map the same metrics, the skills are transferable. If you can’t, it’s not transferable. Most people do not do an exceptional amount of work in X# of years, so progression is fairly linear for most folks. Generally YOE lines up with qualifications.
