Clara and the sun was amazing. Also Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa. Ted Chiangs short stories as well, especially Anxiety is the dizziness of freedom. I'm a big Carlos Ruiz Zafon fan, and at times, some of the dark Kafka vibes definitely shine through in his novels, too. I think deep down, many of the fiction writers are part philosophers anyway.

He wrote other novels too, I also liked the Prince of the Mist. But the 4 set Barcelona series is definitely worth it. And it's not like they aren't complete stories by themselves. Each book is a self-contained arc :)
