But seriously, Sinwar has the last word in negotiations. And NOT killing Haniya for the past 10 months didn't result in hostage release either. So its a bit disingenuous to say "but hostages."

I think Israel will eventually assassinate every single one of Hamas' leaders. And I don't think Hamas didn't know that going into Oct 7 (given that that's exactly what Israel did w Black September after the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre - only Oct 7 was an attack on a completely diff scale).

Will it "hurt hostage negotiations"? I doubt it because I don't see how its changing the calculus on Hamas' side
