When you hit a certain age anywhere else starts to feel nicer than New York. You get tired of living inside what feels like a gigantic dirty car engine and want to see some grass.

counterpoint: after visiting much nicer, cleaner and more developed cities (esp in Asia) for awhile it only takes about 2.5 days to adjust back to life in New York
